Secondary Education - Fast Track
The purpose of the Fast Track M.Ed. in Secondary Education is to provide a "seamless" program of initial teacher preparation for students who completed Bachelor's degrees at UA South or another accredited four-year institution. Because the program relates educational theory and methodology to pre-service practice, no thesis is required in this program; instead, an action research project is intended to document student efforts to develop professionally.
The Fast Track M.Ed. in Secondary Education is a professional online program that allows students holding bachelors degrees to meet certification standards and earn an M.Ed. in secondary education in as little as fifteen months. Students may begin taking classes as soon as the summer after completing baccalaureate requirements. The program, however, is flexible enough to permit multiple entry points during the academic year (Summer or Fall). Students meet internship requirements by working in area middle schools and high schools during the entire academic year.
The M.Ed. has a residency requirement during field placement.
