Student Services Fee

What is it? The Student Services Fee was initiated in Fall 2008 by the University of Arizona Student Governments in order to allow students to direct funding efforts to those areas identified as priorities by them – students themselves. Any University of Arizona South student, student organization or department may apply for funding to further enhance the educational experience of UAS students.

How will it work? The Student Services Fee will be implemented and monitored through a student committee. The committee is made up of undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, there is representation by way of non-voting advisors from the Student Services Department, UAS Faculty and Business Departments. Other non-voting members on the Students Services Fee Committee (SSFC) will be the SSF Advisor and Student Services Coordinator

How do the students apply? The Student Services Fee Committee (SSFC) will vote on funding decisions at Allocation Meetings held two times an academic year. All applicants are invited to this open meeting, at which time members of the SSFC may wish to ask questions about proposed projects.

Proposal Deadlines: Deadline for Fall Semester ‘09 proposals is November 20, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. and Spring Proposals is February 20, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Once completed applications can be emailed to rautanen@email.arzona.edu or dropped off at Student Services.

Meeting Dates: Student Services meetings are open to the public during open session for review of all applications. Closed session will be for vote and open only to Committee Members. Currently the dates for application process and review are yet to be determined but coming soon.
